Erasmus Mundus
Erasmus Mundus is an initiative of the European Union which offers scholarships in the UK to students from around the world. This program serves to foster academic collaboration between Europe and other parts of the world, while also improving Europe’s international standing.
The Erasmus Mundus Scholarship is available to students who plan to study at an EU university for 12 or more months and covers tuition fees, living costs and health insurance. As this scholarship program is run by a consortium of universities, it’s important to visit their website to learn more about the programmes available.
Erasmus Mundus provides two types of scholarship opportunities: Action 1 and Action 2. Through these, students can apply for either a Master course or Joint Doctorate that are offered by different higher education institutions throughout Europe as well as third countries, leading to the award of either a Masters or PhD diploma upon successful completion.
Under Action 2, scholarships are awarded for study and research activities carried out within a partnership between an educational institution in the EU and one in a targeted Third Country. These arrangements typically last five years and support mobility at undergraduate, masters, doctorate and post-doctorate levels.
The Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree (EMJMD) is an advanced, integrated master’s study program. Delivered by an international consortium of higher education institutions, this joint degree requires multiple study periods across different countries but can also be completed remotely.

CEEC Scholarship: The University of Nottingham offers this scholarship to students from Central and Eastern Europe. It covers the tuition fee for one year of study and requires citizens or permanent residents of either a member state of either the European Union, European Free Trade Association, or an associated country; plus any UK resident with either parent or grandparent enrolled in a full-time postgraduate course at Nottingham.
